AI bank statement analyser: what it can tell you

An AI bank statement analyser that cites its sources: Era reads your UK statements, shows the page behind every figure and any assistant can answer from them.

An AI bank statement analyser reads a statement and answers questions about it. Era does that in its Document Library: it reads your current account or credit card statement, keeps the page and snippet behind every figure, and lets Claude, ChatGPT or Gemini answer from it, without the file being pasted into a chat.

What can an AI bank statement analyser tell you?

It can tell you where the money went, which payments repeat, what changed since last month and whether any charge looks wrong. Era gives your assistant the extracted period, balances and transactions, so the answer comes with the line it relies on.

Try "Use Era. Summarise my March statement in five lines: income, the three largest costs and anything unusual" or "List every fee on my credit card statement with the page it is on." The second is useful for the charges that hide in the small print.

Is it safe to upload a bank statement?

Upload by link and the assistant never handles the file; it passes the link and Era stores the statement in your library. Era encrypts data with AES-256 at rest and TLS 1.3 in transit, and it records what each assistant asks for. Nothing is shared unless you choose to share it.

A statement in a chat stays in the chat, with your sort code and address. A statement in your library stays in one place under your control. Is it safe to give AI your financial data explains the rest.

Does it work for UK banks that aren't connected?

Yes. A statement works for any account, whether or not Era has a live link to that bank. Add a manual account, upload the statement and Era can import its transactions into it, so the account shows up in your spending and cash flow like any other.

This helps with the accounts open banking doesn't reach: an old savings account, a partner's account, a business account you want to see beside your own. The statement is the connection.

Can the statement become part of your assistant's memory?

Yes. What Era reads is "what the document states" until you promote it. Promote a fact, such as your rent or an account's rate, and it joins Era's memory, so every connected assistant can answer from it. Retire it when it changes.

That is how a conversation in Claude becomes something ChatGPT already knows. What Era Context stores and how to manage it lists what memory can hold.

Can you share a statement with a partner or an adviser?

Yes. Put it in a shared space with a partner, or send a share link, which opens only for a signed-in Era user and expires after the lifetime you choose. Tags are your existing tags, so statements sit beside payslips and receipts with the same labels.
