Does your bank have an MCP server? Chase, Schwab, more

Does your bank have an MCP server? Schwab has promised one, Chase and Wells Fargo have none, and Era connects your banks to every assistant without waiting.

Almost no bank has an MCP server you can use today. Schwab has promised to let clients connect their own assistants to its MCP servers, and a few brokerages and crypto exchanges have opened theirs, but Chase, Wells Fargo, Citi and Bank of America have not. You don't need to wait for any of them: Era connects your banks to every assistant already.

MCP, the Model Context Protocol, is the standard that lets an assistant such as ChatGPT or Claude ask a service for data in a safe, structured way. If you want the background first, what is MCP covers it in plain terms.

Does Chase have an MCP server?

Chase does not offer an MCP server for customers. It has said it won't let third parties access accounts with customers' banking credentials, and that read-only access through open-banking providers is allowed. So the route to using Chase with an assistant runs through an authorised link that you approve, and Era is built for exactly that.

Chase's updated Digital Services Agreement takes effect on 1 January 2027, and it puts responsibility for an agent's actions on the customer. Chase's AI agent terms lays out what that means in practice. Whatever your setup is, keep the password away from the assistant and the connection read-only, and the terms have little to bite on.

Does Schwab have an MCP server?

Schwab has said it will open MCP servers so clients can connect their own assistants, but it has not shipped one for customers yet. In the same breath, its chief executive said Schwab blocks unauthorized agents, including Meta's Muse. The promise is a front door run by Schwab, and the block is aimed at everything that comes in without it.

When Schwab's servers arrive, they will connect Schwab accounts and nothing else. Most people hold accounts at several places: a checking account at one bank, a credit card at another and a brokerage at a third. Connecting each to each assistant separately is the problem an MCP-per-bank world creates, and it is the reason a single hub for every assistant makes more sense than a server per bank.

Do Wells Fargo, Citi and Bank of America have MCP servers?

Not for customers. Wells Fargo's new terms, from 24 November 2026, allow the bank to block AI tools and make you responsible for revoking an agent's authority, and Citi says it doesn't permit third-party agents to log in. Bank of America tells customers they answer for activity from shared credentials. None has announced an MCP server of its own.

That leaves two choices for a customer of any of these banks: wait for the bank, or use a route that works now. The route that works now is a read-only link you approve through the bank's own sign-in.

Which banks and brokers do have MCP servers?

A small number of brokers and exchanges do. Scalable Capital opened its brokerage platform to ChatGPT, Claude and Grok over MCP in August, and Revolut's crypto exchange, Revolut X, opened to Claude, Gemini and Cursor in beta in July. These are real, and each covers one provider's products.

They also show where the market is heading: more providers will open their own doors, one at a time, each with its own sign-in, its own permissions and its own terms. For a person with accounts at five institutions, that adds up to five connections to understand, secure and revoke.

Can I connect my bank to my AI without waiting for an MCP server?

Yes. Link your bank in Era and connect your assistant to Era, and the assistant can answer from your real accounts today. You don't need your bank to ship an MCP server, and you don't need to hold your accounts at a bank on any particular list.

Era connects accounts across the US, the UK, Canada, France, Germany, Spain, and 40+ countries in all.

Here is what that gives you in practice:

  1. One authorised link. You sign in on your bank's pages through a regulated data network, and the bank sees an approved connection.
  2. Every assistant. Claude, ChatGPT, Gemini, Meta's Muse and the rest connect to Era, so you never repeat the bank approval.
  3. Shared memory. What you tell one assistant, the others know.
  4. More than balances. Spending, financial health with the analysis behind it, holdings, and documents such as statements and payslips.
  5. Your choice of access. Read-only keys, expiry dates, and one-step revocation.

The setup guides are connect Claude, connect ChatGPT and connect any AI agent.

What if my bank does ship an MCP server later?

Then you can use it alongside Era. A bank's own server is a good way to ask that bank things only it knows, such as product details or branch services. Nothing about it stops you from also using one hub for your accounts.

Era remains the place that pulls every bank into one picture, so your assistant can compare, total and plan across all of them, with a memory that carries over between assistants.
