Keep receipts and invoices organized with AI
A receipt organizer app that your AI can read: Era files receipts and invoices under your tags, pulls out the totals and answers from them in any assistant.
Era works as a receipt organizer that your AI assistant can read. Drop in a receipt or an invoice, and Era reads the merchant, date and total, files it under your own tags and keeps the page and snippet it came from, so Claude, ChatGPT or Gemini can find and add up your paper on request.
How do you keep receipts organized with AI?
Upload each receipt or invoice by link as soon as you have it, and tag it with a tag you already use, such as a project, a client or a tax year. Era reads the document and your assistant can then list, total and compare receipts by tag, merchant or month.
The habit that makes this work is small: a photo into the library at the moment of purchase. After that, the questions a shoebox makes painful become one prompt: "What did I spend on the kitchen this year?" or "Which invoices are still unpaid?"
What does Era read on a receipt or an invoice?
Era reads receipts and invoices as document kinds of their own, along with bills. It picks up the merchant or supplier, the date, the amounts and the parties, and it keeps a citation for each value, so you can open the page and see the number for yourself.
Bills are in the same family, which means the electricity bill, the phone bill and the insurance renewal can sit in the library with the receipts. Your assistant can compare this quarter's bill with the last one and tell you what moved.
Can AI match receipts to your transactions?
Your assistant can compare the two, because Era holds your transactions and your documents together. Ask it which card charges in March have no receipt in the library, and it lists them, so you know what to hunt for before a return or an expense report is due.
Use Era. Which charges over $50 in March don't have a matching receipt in my library?
Use Era. Total every receipt tagged "home office" and list them by date.
Era treats a document as evidence you can cite and a transaction as the movement of money, and your assistant joins them when you ask.
Which tags and folders should you use?
Use the tags you already have. Era applies your existing tags to documents rather than inventing new ones, and folders hold the rest, so a structure like a folder per year with tags for client or project is enough. Your assistants see the same tags that you see.
Because the structure is yours, it carries over. An accountant you share a folder with finds the same tags you use in your transactions, and nothing needs translating. See pricing for how many documents and how much storage each tier includes.
Can you share a folder of receipts?
Yes. Share receipts into a space so a partner or a business partner sees them beside the shared accounts, or send a share link to anyone else. A link opens only for a signed-in Era user and expires after the lifetime you set.
When a receipt matters, promote its key facts, such as a warranty end date or a deductible expense, so they join Era's memory. Every connected assistant can answer from them from then on. For how to organize the tax side of the same paper, see organize your tax documents with AI.
